I began my journey as a travel teacher teaching AP Lit/Lang and Comp in a 1:1 iPad school where I was able to learn valuable EdTech skills in my early teaching years. After earning my Education Specialist Instruction Credential, I worked in the Irvine Unified School District in both high school (teaching Directed World History) and elementary (Multiple Subject) settings. I have found a great family in my current district and am currently teaching Integrated Math 1. I am highly qualified in both Language Arts and Math and I recently earned the designation of Google for Education Certified Trainer.
At my current site, I am acting as Technology Site Champion and have helped get staff on board with piloting both Chromebooks and HP Streams by offering both small group and 1:1 training. I love the autonomy and instant feedback that technology can provide for both students and teachers.
This year, I piloted Standards Based/Equitable Grading Practices in my classroom and am researching ways to effectively implement Project Based Learning opportunities that correlate to Sustainable Development Goals.
